Kethel - 13-07-19 by Corné Akkers turns a leafless tree into a network of curling branches and modeled curves. The strong trunk anchors the foreground, with buildings and a quieter tree receding into the shaded landscape.
Pale highlights trace the branches as they twist across the sky, giving the tree a sculptural presence. The grayscale drawing-like detail rewards a closer look while retaining the recognizable structure of an outdoor scene.
