Rijswijk – 04-12-15 by Corné Akkers layers the strong silhouette of a tower with a delicate web of bare branches. Soft gray shading and dark, sweeping lines turn an architectural view into a quiet study of light, structure and depth.
The branches cross the buildings at different angles, contrasting organic curves with the upright forms of the architecture. Pale areas leave room for the eye to rest, while the darker foreground creates a sense of looking through the trees toward the tower.
